About Host Fanatics
Host Fanatics is an independent hosting review site. We help beginners, small-business owners and developers choose web hosting without wading through sales pages, and we try to tell you the things those sales pages leave out.
Who we are
We’re a small, independent team of people who build and run websites for a living. We’ve set up blogs, business sites and online stores, moved sites between hosts, and dealt with the slow pages, surprise renewals and support tickets that come with it.
We’re not owned by a hosting company, and no host has a say in what we publish. We started Host Fanatics because choosing a host shouldn’t require reading ten near-identical “top 10” lists to work out which one fits your site.
What we cover
- Reviews: in-depth looks at individual hosts, with speed and uptime data from our own monitoring. Start with our Hostinger review.
- Comparisons: head-to-head breakdowns like Hostinger vs Bluehost, for when you’ve narrowed it down to two.
- Best-of lists: ranked picks by hosting type, such as the best WordPress hosting.
- Coupons: deals and codes we check regularly, with a note on what they do and don’t cover.
- Guides: practical how-tos, from launching your first WordPress site to moving hosts without downtime.
Our principles
Independence
We buy hosting plans the same way you would and test them with the same method every time. Hosts don’t see our reviews before they go live, and they can’t buy a better score. You can read exactly how we work on our How We Test page.
Honesty about renewal prices
Almost every host advertises an intro price that only applies to the first term. We always show the renewal price next to it, and we tell you when the cheapest rate depends on a long prepay. A host that looks cheap today can cost much more by year three, and you should know that before you buy.
Corrections
Hosting changes quickly: plans get renamed, features move between tiers and prices shift. When we get something wrong or it goes out of date, we fix it. If you spot an error, tell us and we’ll check it and update the page.
How we make money
Host Fanatics is free to read. When you click one of our links to a host and buy a plan, we may earn a commission from that host. It costs you nothing extra, and sometimes our links come with a discount you wouldn’t get otherwise.
We never accept payment for placement. Commissions don’t affect our scores, our rankings or what we say about a host, and we recommend hosts we don’t earn from when they’re the right fit. Our affiliate disclosure explains the details.
