Affiliate Disclosure
Host Fanatics is free to read. To keep it that way, we earn money through affiliate links. This page explains how that works and what it does and doesn’t change about what we publish.
How we earn money
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy a hosting plan or another product, the company may pay us a commission. These programs are run either by the hosts directly or through affiliate networks such as Impact.
You don’t pay anything extra when you buy through our links. The price is the same as going to the host directly, and sometimes lower when a link includes a discount arranged for our readers.
How links are marked
Our affiliate links go through addresses on our own site that start with /go/, such as a “Visit site” or “Get deal” button. These redirect you to the host. They’re marked with the “sponsored” attribute in the page code, as search engines ask, and we treat any link to a host’s sales page as potentially earning us a commission.
What commissions don’t change
- Scores: every host is scored with the same method, explained on our How We Test page. Commission rates play no part in it.
- Rankings: the order of our best-of lists and comparisons is based on our scores and the needs of that use, not on what a host pays us.
- What we say: we point out renewal prices, weak spots and better alternatives, including hosts we don’t earn from.
Coupons from hosts
Some hosts give us exclusive coupon codes or special deal links for our readers. We list them on our coupon pages because they save you money. Getting a coupon from a host doesn’t earn it a better review or a higher ranking.
No paid reviews
We don’t accept payment for reviews, rankings or placement, and hosts don’t see or approve our content before it’s published. We buy the plans we test with our own money.
