Quick verdict
Hostinger is the host we recommend most often. It pairs fast LiteSpeed servers with hPanel, its own control panel, which is the easiest hosting dashboard we know of. A complete beginner can buy a plan, connect a domain and have WordPress running in a few minutes, and the price is among the lowest of any major host.
The catch is the price you’ll pay later. The headline price only applies when you prepay for the longest term, and plans renew at a much higher rate. Hostinger is still good value at renewal, but go in with your eyes open — the table below shows both prices.
Buy Hostinger Premium for a first site or blog, Business if you run a store or expect real traffic. Take the longest term you’re comfortable with — that’s where the value is.
Pros & cons
What we liked
- Fast LiteSpeed servers with built-in caching
- hPanel is simpler than cPanel, with one-click WordPress
- Free domain for a year, free SSL and email on Premium and up
- Data centers in North America, Europe, Asia and South America
- 30-day money-back guarantee
What we didn’t
- Renewal prices are much higher than the intro price
- The lowest rate needs the longest prepay
- No phone support — chat and email only
- Daily backups only on higher plans
- Upsells during checkout (easy to untick)
Pricing & plans
Hostinger sells four shared web hosting plans. For most people the choice is between Premium and Business — the entry-level Single plan is too limited (one site, no free domain) to be worth the small saving.
| Plan | Intro price | Renews at | Websites | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Single | $1.99/mo | $5.99/mo | 1 | Testing an idea |
| PremiumOur pick | $2.69/mo | $7.99/mo | 100 | Blogs, portfolios, first sites |
| Business | $3.49/mo | $8.99/mo | 100 | Online stores, growing sites |
| Cloud Startup | $7.99/mo | $19.99/mo | 300 | High-traffic sites, agencies |
Intro prices are for a 48-month term. Prices checked Oct 4, 2026 — Hostinger changes them often, so check the live price before you buy.
What you’ll really pay over four years
The intro price is locked in for whatever term you prepay. Buy one year at a time and you pay the higher one-year rate first, then the renewal rate every year after — over four years that can cost more than double what a single long prepay costs. Prepaying is the biggest saving available, and our Hostinger coupons can take a little more off on top.
Speed test results
We built an identical WordPress site — theme, plugins, images and 20 posts — on every host we review, then measured time to first byte (TTFB) every hour from six regions: US East, US West, London, Frankfurt, Singapore and Sydney. Lower is better.
Average TTFB, 180 days
Hostinger is consistently among the fastest shared hosts we track. The LiteSpeed web server and the LiteSpeed Cache plugin, installed automatically with WordPress, do most of the work — leave the plugin on its default settings and you get page caching without touching anything.
Uptime
Hostinger offers a 99.9% uptime guarantee. The meter above shows what our monitor actually recorded; short maintenance windows are announced in advance in hPanel, so check there before blaming your site.
Ease of use
Hostinger uses its own control panel, hPanel, instead of the industry-standard cPanel. That’s a good thing for beginners: everything is laid out as big, plainly labeled tiles, and the setup wizard asks what you’re building and installs WordPress for you.
- Setup: a guided wizard takes you from purchase to a live WordPress site without touching DNS settings.
- Migration: free automatic migration from another host — request it from hPanel after you sign up.
- Staging: one-click staging site on Business and above.
- AI tools: a built-in AI website builder and content assistant. Handy for drafts, not a replacement for writing.
Customer support
Support is live chat and email only, around the clock, with an AI assistant answering first and a human taking over when you ask. It handles everyday questions well. If you want to talk to someone on the phone, or you regularly need deep server-level help, a host like SiteGround is a better fit.

Frequently asked questions
Is Hostinger good for beginners?
Yes — it’s the easiest host we’ve tested. hPanel’s setup wizard installs WordPress for you, and the free domain and SSL mean there’s nothing extra to configure.
Why is Hostinger so cheap?
The lowest price requires a long prepay, and plans renew at a higher rate. Hostinger also runs its own control panel and data centres, which keeps costs down.
Does Hostinger offer a free domain?
Yes, on Premium and higher plans with a 12-month or longer term. The domain is free for the first year, then renews at the standard rate.
Can I get a refund?
Hostinger offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on hosting. Domains and some add-ons are non-refundable, so check the terms before you buy.
Is there a Hostinger coupon code?
See our Hostinger coupons page for the codes and deals we’ve checked recently. Coupons apply to the first term only, not renewals.
